MBABANE – Ndumiso Manana, Nasty C and Tellaman’s newly dropped joint is doing the numbers on all streaming platforms.

Select Play dropped the new joint titled “Better Than This,” featuring contributions from Nasty C, Tellaman, and Manana.

The music on the airwaves this week has been crazy. Select Play turned up the heat with a banging new joint with some of our faves contributing. Everyone has been assured that   good work was put into the song.

The song is currently on over 300 000 streams combined. These streaming platforms include Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and Sound cloud among others.

Nasty C has been one of the most talked-about artists on the scene this year. The “There They Go” star has a new album coming soon. The project is expected to drop either late next month or in early August. He also has a tour with Cassper Nyovest coming.

Meanwhile Ndumiso Manana, hails from Eswatini and is a Grammy Award winner, songwriter and musician. He has written songs for Ami Faku ‘eBhayi’, Amanda Black for ‘Africa’ and Sauti Sol, to name a few.

Manana had previously announced the news of the release through an Instagram Post. The release of the single finds the musician at a point where he is determined to continue pushing his craft abroad, as he recently performed for the first time in Los Angeles at Winston House last week.

During the show in Los Angeles, Manana shared the stage with SA musicians Rowlene and Willinley.

The musician then took to his Instagram account to share an appreciation post for the opportunity he got to perform in LA.

“I played my first show in LA, and man, it was special! And I got to share the stage with @willinleyy and @rowlene_sa. What a magical experience with a magical audience, so thanks to everyone who made the mission far and wide come out! All the love to @itstheimports for bringing all the Southern Africans together for this beautiful showcase, and a special thank you to the team at @tgisfiction, @winstonhouse, and @artisticintent!” read the post.

Manana has a Jazz background and is part of the band Seba Kaapstad, alongside Zoë Modiga. When Nigeria’s Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice as Tall’ came out on top in the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards, little did Manana know that the win would be a life-changing moment for him.

He walked away with a Grammy for his contribution to a song on the album titled ‘Time Flies’, featuring Sauti Sol.

He has already released three projects, which form part of a trilogy. As it is a continuation of the other. The first extended playlist (EP) was released in 2020, titled ‘In the Beginning Was the End’.

The second EP was released in 2022, titled ‘But could the moments in between’, which builds on the sentiment of being in love and feeling it from the first EP, later in the same year, he dropped the final part, titled Comma.

It is different from the previous two, but it remains honest and comes from a place of love.

Together, the trilogy forms a short poem. It was during the release of the trilogy that Manana became a Grammy Award winner in 2021 for his contribution to a song, ‘Time Flies’, which forms part of Burna Boy’s album, ‘Twice as Tall’.
