The public has taken time to acknowledge the greatest performer of their generation. Currently, it is not Lady Gaga or Katy Perry but Eswatini’s very own Mandisa Mamba.
Members of the public took to their social media platforms, Twitter specifically, to praise the singer on her well-crafted performances and stage presence.
The singer, who always oozes confidence and always looks good on stage, has two albums under her belt. She has released hit singles including ‘Anymore’ and ‘Love Fiend’- making her one the most nominated woman in Eswatini award history with 10 nominations under her belt. Her ‘Love Fiend’ music video is still one of the most talked about videos in the country, to date.
To add on to this endless list, the public has endorsed Mamba as the best performers to come out of Eswatini.
If one has been to any show where, the sultry singer was billed to perform then one will know that she always gives it her all. In a recent public stage appearance at Pop Sunday and Social Media Awards, Mamba left everyone literally gasping for air.
Always clad in tantalizing outfits and neatly done make up, the singer always makes sure to deliver only the greatest performance.
Winner of the Best RnB Artist award, Best Collaboration and Song of the year award at the MTN Eswatini Music Awards, Mandisa Mamba is the first and only Eswatini artist to be nominated in the ‘Best Female Artist in Southern Africa’ category at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in 2018, where she also performed for a crowd of over 20 000.
Her latest single ‘Fault In The Stars’ hit number one in Eswatini Top 20 Music Chart and remained number one for 11 weeks consecutively, making her the first artist to achieve such in Eswatini.
Mandisa Mamba’s sound is a colourful fusion of RnB, reggae, electro, hip-hop and pop. She is a multi-faceted singer/songwriter who has achieved major success in her home country, since the launch of her music career in 2016. Her fierce, vibrant and daring energy is reflected in her rich-textured sound and high-energy performances.
Her music have also been highly ranked by channels like Trace Music, Channel O and MTV, Mamba was listed by Glam Africa Magazine as one of the ‘Top 5 Artists to Watch in Africa’. In less than a year of launching her music career, she performed at the internationally acclaimed MTN Bushfire Festival, for two years in succession, which saw her career soar to greater heights.
Not one to be confined by her immediate surroundings, the award winning singer incorporates different rhythms and experiments with international styles of music. She challenges the notion that Eswatini is a hub of complacency by unapologetically expressing her creative freedom with no limits and no restrictions.
When speaking about how her followers and fans have given her flowers and compliments on her stage presence she said, all it took for her was hard work and dedication.
She said lots of money and time went into preparing for every performance because she always wants to deliver the best.
“For me to deliver a great show really depends on how well in advance I am made aware of the show. So if I’m told I have a show in a week’s time, then I will use that particular time to prepare.
“I always look forward to reconnecting with my audience on a personal level. Also to share with them what I have been working on, for example the last time I had a one man show was a while back. I was hosted by Arts Awake entertainment. It was a night to remember. It was a full house; there was lots of dancing laughing and teary moments,” said Mamba.
