MBABANE – The town of Mankayane, which will host His Majesty King Mswati III’s 56th Birthday, is now clean and ready to welcome the world to celebrate the anticipated event.
Yesterday morning (April 17, 2024), people from Mankayane and surrounding areas convened in that town to start a clean-up campaign in preparation for the event. Led by the Mankayane Town Board, the campaign was aimed to spruce up the town to welcome the upcoming celebration with renewed vigor and a sense of pristine beauty.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is at the forefront of the preparations for this event, that clean-up campaign, which spanned three hours, kicked off at the Mabovini waiting room, where a certain group started the campaign, while another dedicated team commenced their efforts from the Mhlabubovu circle. Participants, ranging from local residents to civic leaders, rolled up their sleeves to tackle litter, debris, and unkempt areas in a bid to transform the town’s appearance before the grand event tomorrow.
