MANZINI – Manzini Central High School has been crowned the champions of the Manzini Region in the Instacash School’s Soccer Tournament today (Wednesday, June 5, 2024) after edging St John Bosco High school 1-0 in the finals.
The match was played at Manzini Club.
In the Manzini Region’s semi-finals, Manzini Central High showcased its prowess and determination by defeating Ngcoseni High School 5-1, in what looked like a one-sided match, to book a spot in the finals. St John Bosco, on the other hand, won 4-2 on penalties, after a playing a 1-all draw against Mcozini High School in a closely contested match.
The victory did not only solidify Manzini Central’s dominance in their region, but also paved a way for them to represent the Manzini Region in the E375 000 sponsored tournament semi-finals, where they will take on the Hhohho Region’s representative. The Hhohho Region’s championship is scheduled for June 11, 2024 at Mkhuzweni Stadium, where schools such as Elangeni High School, Mpofu High School, Ntfonjeni High School will battle it out for the coveted title.
All roads will lead to Goshe Szokolay Memorial Stadium in Simunye tomorrow (Thursday, June 6, 2024) for the Lubombo Region finals. In the lubombo Region semi-finals, Mpaka High School will take on Lomahasha High School at 9am, while Ndzangu High School will clash against Big Bend High School at 11am. The finals are scheduled for 2pm later that day.
