MBABANE– The harmonious sounds of Manzini Choir will be echoing the hall of St Theresa’s High School.
One of the eldest choirs in the country, Manzini Choir, will be hosting its first concert of the year on March 26 at the above-mentioned venue in Manzini from 2pm. The concert is a fundraiser.
Revealing this information which is exciting to chorister fanatics was Manzini Choir Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dr Nhlanhla Shongwe, who said besides being a fundraiser, the concert was aimed at entertaining choral music lovers with a rich repertoire of classical as well as folks spiced with hymnal renditions, giving the audience an opportunity to unwind after the busy back to school season.
Shongwe said the concert would also be interesting in that the choir would showcase some talent in smaller ensembles and solo work.
“We encourage surrounding schools to encourage their pupils to come to the show because they will surely be inspired to explore music as not only an entertainment art form but a professional career as well,” explained Shongwe.
He further explained that funds raised from the concert would assist the choir to prepare for the forthcoming local choral music competition. Admission will be at a fee of E100 for adults and E50 for students.
