MBABANE– Manzini Nazarene High School walked away with the ‘Champions’ title after winning the Junior Achievement Premier Foodies Competition.
More than 30 schools participated in the competition where they took part in a holiday camp learning more about making money from their cooking skills.
Vulamasango Junior achievement made the second position whilst Londunduma made the third position.
The students were taught about discovering their target market, having a winning recipe, budgeting, shopping, selling, and presentation just to name a few.
“What an exciting day it has been. A special thank you goes to Premier Foods, dot Good and all schools that participated in this ‘Holiday Boot Camp’,” said Junior Achievement Program Coordinator Sheena Litchfield.
The pupils also expressed excitement over their win, mentioning that they had worked hard at the competition.
One other pupil said they were happy with how JA believed that young people are a priority and how they target and develop their potential to positively influence the economic status of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The pupil said JA shows equal and fair treatment to all internal and external stakeholders in adherence to the National Policies and Constitution.
Junior Achievement Eswatini is an international NGO that was established in the country in 2009. The organization has grown rapidly since 2009 and it now consists of 4 main programs namely; Financial Literacy, JA Company (JACO), Job Shadow (JS), and Out of School Youth (OOSY).
Over the years, JA Eswatini (JAS) has positioned itself as a trendsetter in investing and encouraging young people to own their economic future through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
