MBABANE – Masundvwini Royal Swallows have been confirmed Manzini Super League Champions, with two games left to play.
This has guaranteed them a slot in the MTN National First Division, under the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE). They clinched the title after winning 3-0 against Kholwane F Birds on Sunday at TB Centre Sports Ground, Matsapha.
They beat fellow title contenders Swazican United and Hub Sundowns, who are sitting second and third positions respectively.
Swallows, a team that once played in the premier league, will be replacing one of the relegated teams from the MTN National First Division being Milling Hotspurs, Nyanyali Celtics, Louis XIV and Ubombo Flyers who will all be campaigning in regional football next season.
In the Swazi Trac Lubombo Super League, Magwanyana FC beat Ngongolozane Citizens 4-2 to overtake Usuthu Liverpool, who suffered their second defeat in a row at the hands of Juventus FC. Magwanyana FC sits at the top of the table with 51 points while, Usuthu Liverpool FC is now second on 49 points. Worth noting is that these teams will face each other in the grand closing of the season.
In the Shiselweni Super League football, All Nations are a few games away from bouncing back to the National First Division, as they are currently topping the Southern Zone Super League with 38 points while fellow title challengers Sea Robbers are positioned second with 33 points, with 3 games left to play.
In the Northern Zone Super League, the title race continues, as there is a four-point margin between first and third. Nkomonye Cosmos (42 points) are currently first, followed by Mpini Cosmos (40 points), while Nkwene Sundowns are third with 38 points.
While in the Hhohho region, Amawele has clinched the Hhohho Southern Zone Super League title, securing themselves a place in the mini-play-offs against Northern Zone League Champions Zibonele Vultures.
The winner of both legs will be crowned the Hhohho super League Champions and earn a ticket to the National First Division.
