MBABANE – Tomorrow is the big day for consumers.
Retail shops in Mbabane are ready for Black Friday sales.
Items including food stuffs, clothes, furniture, building material, and electric appliances have been put on massive discount.
Black Friday is a day that marks the beginning of Christmas shopping season, where local retailers are cutting prices on a variety of goods. Some of the retailers open earlier than the usual opening time and close very late because Black Friday is the busiest consumer-spending day of the year.
Products like shoes and kids’ clothing are put on huge discount in shops such as Edgars where customers can buy two and get two for free on all sales items. The Black Friday specials started yesterday till Sunday, the 26th of November 2023.
Other shops that have discounted products include, Hifi Corp, Pick n Pay, Spar, Clicks and Mr Price Home.
Consumer Association Chairperson, Bongani Mdluli, warned Emaswati to be vigilant during this period and that they should not be deceived.
“I urge all customers to be careful and take their time when purchasing products tomorrow because some of the retailers they use the Black Friday as an opportunity to dispose expired products. Some retailers do not reduce the prices at all instead they increase the prices because they know that customers will be too excited to even notice,” said Mdluli.
