MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows had another disappointing showing after losing 4-1 to Green Mamba on 1st October 2023. The match, which was held at King Sobhuza Stadium, saw the “Mamba” dominate the game from the start, managing to score three goals in the first half alone.

The first goal came in the 25th minute through Njabulo “D4D” Ndlovu, giving Green Mamba the lead. However, Swallows fought back almost instantly, equalizing through Sizolwethu “Nunu” Shabalala in the 35th minute, much to the delight of their supporters.

Unfortunately, the joy was short-lived as Green Mamba quickly regained their lead through two quick goals scored by Sikhali, ending the first half 3-1 in favour of Green Mamba.

The second half saw Swallows trying their best to catch up but were unable to create any meaningful scoring chances. Green Mamba’s game management was excellent, and they managed to score one more goal in the 90th minute through Kwenzokuhle Khumalo, effectively sealing the victory.

Green Mamba’s total domination of Mbabane Swallows was highlighted by the fact that they have now scored ten goals in their two recent matches, namely the Trade Fair Cup and MTN Premier League.

Green Mamba is the current defending champion of the Premier League and is a force to be reckoned with in Eswatini’s soccer scene. Although Swallows’ form hasn’t been great lately, it is hoped that they will regroup and come back stronger in their next matches, showing their supporters what they are capable of.
