RWANDA – Minister of Sports, Culture & Youth Affairs Harries Bulunga has called on the young people of the Commonwealth to be fully involved in shaping the Commonwealth they want. Minister Bulunga was speaking when delivering a keynote address at a plenary session of the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Forum in Rwanda.
The plenary session focused on the theme, ‘Co-Creation and Strategic Partnerships.’

Minister Bulunga said that it has become clear that for the Commonwealth to successfully navigate past challenges, it needs to work together in reinforcing institutional capacity to weather storms and remain growing.
Minister Bulunga also said that, “At the centre of this drive, we need our young people, all 1.2 billion of you from all over the Commonwealth. We need you, the youth, to stand up and be actively involved in building the Commonwealth that you want, a Commonwealth that speaks to your needs, desires and aspirations as young people.”

“There is much we can achieve when and if we work together in harmony. Collaboration breeds ownership of ideas and strategies. It builds trust and enhances understanding of decision making processes. This is why such platforms as the Commonwealth Youth Forum are hugely important because they bring to life the idea of ‘Co creation and Partnerships,” added the Minister.
“I further urge you as young people here and all young people of the Commonwealth to make use of available opportunities across your countries to make your voices heard and to contribute to the growth of your Nations. It is in that spirit that we will achieve the growth we all aspire,” concluded the Minister.
