MBABANE – Minister for Natural Resources and Energy His Royal Highness Prince Lonkhokhela is in Rwanda to participate in the inaugural Women in Energy meeting.
During his visit to Rwanda, the Minister met with Dr. Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya, the Minister of Environment. They discussed a range of development issues, including land tenure systems.
The Ministers explored the importance of land tenure in providing a foundation for sustainable development, and they exchanged ideas and experiences from their respective countries. This meeting was a valuable opportunity to learn from each other and build a stronger relationship between Eswatini and Rwanda.
The Rwandan Minister shared her knowledge and experience with land policies and land entitlement/ownership in Rwanda. She described the government’s efforts to modernize and streamline land tenure systems in the country, and highlighted the positive impacts that these reforms have had on economic development and the well-being of the people. She also provided insights on how these reforms could be applied in Eswatini.
During the meeting, the Rwandan Minister expressed her willingness to share knowledge and information with the Kingdom of Eswatini. She offered to provide Eswatini with expertise and resources to support the country’s development efforts. This offer represents a valuable opportunity for Eswatini to benefit from Rwanda’s experience and expertise in the areas of land policies and economic development.
