In an effort to create more jobs and improve the country’s economy, Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Prince Lonkhokhela has met the Minerals and Mines Management Board (MMB).
The meeting between the parties took place yesterday at the ministry’s offices in Mbabane.
The parties discussed collaborative efforts in line with His Majesty the King’s vision: Leveraging the mining sector as a key enabler to boost the country’s economy and create numerous job opportunities.
During the meeting, Prince Lonkhokhela emphasised to the MMB that Cabinet had a strong view of using the mining sector as a catalyst for boosting the country’s economy and creating numerous job opportunities as also alluded to by Emaswati during the recent Sibaya.
Chairman of the MMB HRH Prince Guduza has pledged full support to the minister’s office and Cabinet in order to realise the objectives mentioned by the minister.
The MMB has been in office since March 2021. It is established in terms of the Constitution. The MMB consists of the Commissioner of Mines, mine engineer, economist, legal practitioner and three other persons all of whom, including Chairperson, are appointed by the Ingwenyama on the advice of the minister responsible for minerals and mines.
The MMB is composed of the following members;

Ms Sihle Yvonne Mashaba – Member
Mr Sibusiso Samuel Ntshalintshali – Member
