MINISTER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND TRADE OPENS EASY BUY SUPERMARKET

MBABANE- The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo this morning officially opened Easy Buy Supermarket in Mbabane.

The supermarket, which is owned by Swazi Bangla Investment, a Bangladeshi-owned entity with various  businesses in Eswatini, whose objective is to contribute to the local economy and provide employment opportunities for Emaswati.

When opening the supermarket, Khumalo expressed his gratitude for the positive contributions made by Swazi Bangla Investment in the country’s economy.

He urged other entrepreneurs to emulate the group’s business growth and emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses.

The Minister  also highlighted that the company managed to retain all its workers during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic era, ensuring that their livelihoods were not adversely affected.

Meanwhile, Easy Buy Chief Executive Officer Ashraful Alam Chowdhurl, expressed his commitment to investing in Eswatini and supporting the emaSwati community.

He acknowledged that the success of their businesses is a result of the support and patronage from the local customer base.

Chowdhurl further pledged to give back to the community and continue supporting the growth of the economy, emphasizing that their aim is to contribute to the overall development of Eswatini.

Swazi Bangla Investment, known for its diverse portfolio of businesses, has made significant contributions to Eswatini’s economic growth. Apart from Easy Buy Supermarket, the group owns an energy sector venture, the Tandoori Chain, The Kitchen, Century Fashion, Menzclub, Cat’s Eye, and Wholmart. These enterprises have collectively employed over 300 emaSwati individuals, and with the opening of Easy Buy, an additional 40 employees have been recruited.
