MBABANE– The Honourable Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Senator Manqoba Khumalo, is currently in Abu Dhabi attending the Annual Investment Meeting.
Khumalo has been working hard on improving Eswatini and Abu Dhabi relations, reported earlier today the Minister is hard at work networking and keeping intact bilateral relations.
The meeting commenced with the official opening on May 8, 2023, under the theme ‘The Investment Paradigm Shift: Future Investment Opportunities to Foster Sustainable Economic Growth, Diversity and Prosperity’.
This is an event under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Technology to speed up the Global Economic Recovery.
The Honourable Minister is in the company of the Kingdom of Eswatini’s Ambassador to the UAE, Sifiso Dlamini, Director Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Mluleki Dlamini and Embassy officials.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Minister also met with officials from the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr Ali Saeed Harmal Aldhaheri, the Vice Chairman and Masaood Rahma Al Masaood, a Treasure and Board Member of the Chamber.
Discussions centred around potential investment in mutual areas of interest and value chain creation inclusive of the MSME sector as a catalyst for economic development and growth.
Other meetings the Honourable Minister and his delegation attended were the discussion on ‘Future Cities: Digital Transformation: Integrating Innovative Technologies’
Furthermore, in the coming days, the Honourable Minister and his delegation will attend sessions on Investment Facilitation; How a New Agreement can help grow FDI Flows and Prosperity; SMEs Investment Challenges and Opportunities; Implementing Smart Businesses through Innovations and the Digital Economy for SMEs, amongst others.
