Following the weekly reports on COVID-19 shown from the Ministry of Health, the cases of COVID-19 infections have been fluctuating, showing an average of seven COVID-19 cases each day from October 9 to October 15, 2022.

Over a month ago, there was an average of one case of infection recorded each day.

The weeks leading towards the end of the month of October have shown a constant rise and fall in COVID-19 cases in the country since restrictions were last adjusted in July, however there have been no deaths reported.

The Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi, communicated how the number of people vaccinating against COVID-19 is increasing, at a very slow rate, but increasing nonetheless. She continued to reveal that numbers regarding the vaccination rates would be updated soon.

Nkosi, who is also a Senator, has urged the public to continue vaccinating in order to protect their lives and that of others.

“We encourage people to vaccinate for their own protection against severe illness, as well as protection of others, particularly young children, which we will do when we reach herd immunity,” said the minister.
