MBABANE – Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini joined the global effort to support those living with HIV&AIDS at the Ministry’s headquarters during a candle lighting ceremony yesterday.
Minister Sikhumbuzo conveyed his endorsement of this year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Let Communities Lead,” emphasizing the necessity for communities to take an active role in the campaign against AIDS.
The Minister stressed, “There is nothing about communities that can be addressed without engaging them,” aligning with the central theme of the 2023/24 World AIDS Day.
Minister Sikhumbuzo took a moment to acknowledge His Majesty King Mswati III for his consistent support and guidance in the nation’s response to HIV. He recognized the King’s impactful speeches, specifically citing phrases such as “iHIV yindzaba yetfu sonkhe” and “Sicondzene Ngco neHIV”.
The Minister concluded his address with a call to action, urging all citizens to actively participate in community-led initiatives and reiterating the importance of collective efforts in the fight against HIV&AIDS. The candle lighting ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the lives affected by this global health challenge and the collective responsibility to bring about positive change.
