EZULWINI – Acting Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Jabulani Mabuza says that the Ministry is determined to consider all viable energy options for Eswatini. The Minister revealed this during a follow-up following a meeting with UK, EU, and US Ambassadors as well as investors.
Speaking to the media, Minister Mabuza noted that, “they showed interest when we met in July. They expressed and interest to better understand the sector in the country as well as where the country needs help – especially in renewable energies, such as solar, hydro. We’ll look into how we can collaborate in those, as well as seeing what other technologies are available for the country.”
Minister Mabuza also revealed that they will be discussing what it means for the country that the energy agreement with ESKOM is expiring. The Minister expressed that they Government is advancing it’s plans for energy security in the country and they are consulting with their foreign counterparts. “It is just to give information as to here’s what we have, what our plans are, and what opportunities are available,” remarked Minister Mabuza.
