MBABANE – The Ministry of Home Affairs has refuted any fraudulent activities involving the Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Public Service, Sipho Tsabedze’s date of birth.
The ministry issued a statement on Wednesday disputing the information that Tsabedze changed his date of birth and labeled such as misleading information meant to tarnish the image of the ministry.
Ministry of Home Affairs Communications Officer Mlandvo Dlamini said the ministry could confirm that the above-mentioned person was duly registered at Manzini Regional Service Centre on 14/01/1981.
Dlamini said Tsabedze was born on 27/11/1967 and certificate No. T 00149 was generated to that effect.
He said on June 1, 2003, Tsabedze applied for enrolment of ID card as Sipho Nelson Tsabedze of Malindza, and his birth date was erroneously captured as January 1, 1963, and was used to accommodate the creation of his Identity Number (PIN), hence PIN: 6301016100071 was generated.
“This error could not be detected as data contained in birth certificates was manual and at the time not captured in the system,” said Dlamini.
The communications officer said on November 10, 2021, Tsabedze applied for an alteration of date.
