MBABANE – The government continues to consult with the public as it develops new laws and policies for the people of Eswatini. The most recent workshop was organised by the Ministry of Housing to orient stakeholders on the Residential Tenancies Bill.
The Workshop forms part of a variety of engagements that the Ministry will be hosting to get as much input from the Nation as possible on the Bill. This is to ensure that the eventual form of the bill is reflective of the needs and desires of the majority of the population.
Speaking during the workshop, the Minister of Housing Prince Simelane encouraged rent payers and landlords to continue engaging the Ministry on the Bill. “This legislation will have a direct effect on you as rent payers & landlords. We want to urge you to continue to engage the Ministry even after today’s event so that when this legislation starts the Parliamentary process it is exactly how you want it.”
The workshops by the Ministry will continue to other towns in the country, as the Residential Tenancies Bill is being finalised by the legislature.
