MBABANE – The Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) has delivered broadcasting equipment to the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
The equipment was officially handed over by the Chief Executive Officer of the ESCCOM, Mvilawempi Dlamini, and it was designated to the Digital Terrestial Television Network department to help with broadcast quality in the country.
The equipment included equipment to help the ministry maintain power supply during interruptions, as well as some broadcasting equipment.
“There are many challenges, so we focused on what is urgent. We started with the critical equipment in assisting the ministry. We have procured eight uninterrupted power supplies to assist us, a 30KVA for Siteki, as well as a generator,” said the CEO.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the ministry, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of ICT thanked ESCCOM for the continued support in helping them maintain world class standards.
“On behalf of my Minister and the whole Ministry, we are out of words to say thank you. It was only a few months ago where you donated camera equipment to the tune of E1.2 million, and now we find ourselves back here to receive another valuable gift. We are really really grateful,” said the PS. The ESCCOM also took a tour of the DTT to further assess progress and the current state of affairs.
