Speaking to the EMI delegation at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport today, Principal Secretary Thulani Mkhaliphi educated the investors on some of the country’s infrastructure trends and outlooks.

“We currently have 519 kilometres of road networks in the country. The estimated cost of that road infrastructure development is around E3 billion,” said Mkhaliphi, noting that these are current estimates as they were completing the adjudication.

The Principal Secretary also noted that they needed to do the maintenance of these roads as soon as possible, with the support of the private sector where needed.

EMI Gates Holdings signed an agreement to work with the Kingdom of Eswatini in the sectors of health, tourism, information communication technology, hospitality and media, among some key sectors.

Following the engagements between His Majesty King Mswati III and EMI Gate Holdings in the UAE in October, the investors have visited the country, met with the King again, as well as met with the Acting Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport among other engagements.
