LOBAMBA – The House of Senate has recommended that the Ministry Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs budget for the 2022/2023 financial year should be increased.

This happened during the ongoing senate portfolio committee quarterly reviews.

Speaking during the sessions, Prince Hlangabeza highlighted that, “For the country to develop and grow, it requires that a person’s mind relax, and how else do can it relax besides sports?” He went on to encourage the need to make sure that the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has enough money to strengthen sports in the country.
He emphasized that the youth is the strength and future of the country, hence, “there is no issue in the country more important than the issues of this Ministry”.

Senator Prince Hlangabeza’s submission was echoed by Senator Busi Dlamini, who said that, “This Ministry is important, especially if it worked well with the Ministry of Agriculture. This is because in the rural areas, people grow crops and raise animals.” She further suggested that the Ministry of Agriculture could help in land allocation for the youth to use for agricultural purposes.
