The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade is committed in addressing the broken relationship between the branch executive committees of Eswatini Commercial Amadoda and the National Executive Committee of the organisation.
The Ministry was made aware of this broken relationship during a meeting with the branch executive consisting of chairpersons and secretaries. According to the statement released today (26 April 2024) by Minister for Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo, the branch executive reported to the Ministry a disregard for the organisation’s constitution as well as allegations of lack of transparency and accountability by the national executive.
However, the Ministry has stated that they take these concerns seriously and recognised the importance of a healthy working relationship within this organisation. In order to address these issues, the Ministry has decided to convene a meeting with both parties within a month, according to the statement.
Government through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, which is mandated to lead the process is hopeful for improved collaboration with Eswatini Commercial Amadoda in the implementation of the recommended report.
