MBABANE – And the lucky five are…
Yesterday, Miss Teen Shiselweni revealed the top five finalists after a successful round of eliminations in the region.
The search for Miss Teen kicked off in the last week of January and closed on February 11. It is worth mentioning that the announcement of the search for the next queen was made on their official Facebook page.
The theme this year is #IntelligentlyBeautiful. #MissTeenShiselweni24.
The five finalists are (L-R) Nondumiso Dlamini, Nompilo Ngozo, Ntsandvoyenkosi Dlamini, Ndlela Nompendulo and Tandzisile Shongwe.
When reached for comment, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Shiselweni Miss Teen Pageant, Khetsiwe Mabuza, shared with this publication that they had made their selection. “After a successful round of eliminations of 19 contestants who entered the competition, we have finally made our choice. The five finalists will partake in the finals scheduled for May 4,” Mabuza said.
Mabuza shared with this publication that the top five would still get a chance to be voted for by the public before the crowning, and they would be releasing the voting codes soon.
When asked about the venue of the crowning, Mabuza shared that they had not secured the venue yet, but they would announce it as soon as they did.
Mabuza also shared that previously they only hosted Miss Teen Nhlangano, but this year, they were looking into expanding and reaching the whole of the Shiselweni region.
According to the PRO, the first Miss Teen Shiselweni was in 2019, and the plan was that it should be annually. Unfortunately, they had to skip other years due to COVID-19, but made a comeback last year.
