MBABANE – International football player Mxolisi Mkhonto is set for double silverware in Botswana with his club Jwaneng Galaxy.

This comes after his club reached the finals of Orange FA Cup finals by beating UB Hawks 1-0 on Saturday at the National Stadium during the semi-finals, while they are also top of the table in the Botswana Premier League.

Jwaneng Galaxy leads the Botswana Premier by eight points with six games remaining. They are top of the table with 60 points and followed by Township Rollers on 52 points, while Gaborone United is third with 47 points.

Mkhonto joined Jwaneng Galaxy from Green Mamba in January and he had made a name for himself winning two man of the match awards in the past two months. Jwaneng Galaxy will host Matebele on Wednesday in the Botswana Premier League game, while they will then face Orapa United in the Orange FA Cup on a date yet to be confirmed.

The club will then choose which of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournaments, being the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, they will compete in, if they are crowned champions in both the Orange FA Cup and the Botswana Premier League.

Meanwhile, Banele ‘Stiga’ Ndzabandzaba faces relegation with his side Police XI as they are perched at the bottom of the Botswana Premier League with 20 points, while only six games are remaining.
