MORDA, ZINHLE’S SONG FEATURING NHLONIPHO ON MTV

MBABANE– South African DJ and record producer Morda, as well as DJ Zinhle, have featured local artist Nhlonipho Dlamini and Mthandazo Gatya on a song titled OK Morda, which premiered on MTV last Wednesday.

The song premiered on the music channel on DSTV Channel 322 at 7am and it also played at 6am. When reached for comment, Nhlonipho shared with this publication that they did the song last year in August.

When asked how the feature came to life, he said, “Morda gave me a call and asked me and Mthandazo to just join in on the beat. I am grateful to have worked on both Asante projects. On the first one, I did a song titled ‘Woza Sambe.’”

Nhlonipho revealed that the song ‘Ok Morda’ was produced by Morda and Dr. Muruti.

Morda, born Bongani Mohosana, is known professionally as Morda or Murda Bongz. He is also a dancer, singer, record producer, and former member of the musical band Black Motion. He has been married to DJ Zinhle since 2022. DJ Zinhle, born Ntombezinhle Mohosana, is a DJ, producer, media personality, and businesswoman.

Dlamini is fresh from sharing the stage with South African artists Ami Faku and Kekelingo last month. The show, organised by Baseline Live at the Lyric Theatre, dubbed Ami Faku and supported by Nhlonipho and Kekelingo, was held at the Lyric Theatre Gold Reef City in Johannesburg on March 2.

He shared with this publication that he has previously worked with Ami Faku on a song on his latest Extended Playlist (EP) titled Selemo, which is available on all digital media platforms. The name of the song is ‘Lilanga.’

Nhlonipho is a music producer, singer, and pianist. He was born in Mankayane, Eswatini. He studied music in 2015 and now holds a Diploma in Music Performance (piano) and a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

He has worked with  renowned South African and international artists such as Luyolo Yiba, Thando Mngomezulu, Shuffle Muzik, Zintle Kwaaiman, Nathi Mankayi, Amanda Mankayi, Samthing Soweto, Citizen Deep, Amanda Black, Nathan Blur, Siyakha Khitha, Wanda Zonke, Anele and Neliswa, the Soweto Central Chorus, Bakhe Dlamini, and Nhlakanipho Dlamini.

He relocated to Johannesburg in 2015, where he works as a lecturer in music theory and keyboard technique at Digmac Media College in Braamfontein, which he says has taught him a lot of patience.
