MBABANE– There continues to be more calls for people to vote as His Majesty King Mswati III urges the Nation to vote.

During the morning live interview on Eswatini Broadcasting Services (EBIS), His Majesty’s representative Mngomeni encouraged Lacwebetelako to participate in the national elections.

During the interview, he said he was sent by His Majesty King Mswati III to inform them that this was a year of elections and that as they participated, they should choose someone who would represent them truthfully.

He said they were not supposed to play and vote for people, who had nothing of their own but promised to do things for others.

“If you decide to take freebies, take them and consume them but when you get to the ballot box, choose the right people,” he said.

In addition, he said voting for the right people was key for the country, hence it was important to choose men and women who would contribute to the growth of the country.

He said the people who were currently in Parliament had five years and in the same period; they were able to show their strengths and weaknesses.

He described kuhlehla as paying rates to the King just like land owners in urban areas paid rates.

He stated that it was important for libutfo not to lose its culture, adding that they were supposed to continuously observe culture, as it made emaSwati different across the world.

Meanwhile, the total number of people who have registered for the 2023 National Elections stands at 355 641 to date.

This means 28 948 people registered yesterday. By the close of business on Sunday, 326 693 people had registered.

The figures are always confirmed by the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Communications Officer, Mbonisi Bhembe. He said There were 181 122 females, 158 049 males and 16 470 persons living with disabilities who had registered by close of business yesterday.
