In an effort to enhance service delivery for the residents of Mbabane East Constituency, Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini has promised to set up a committee for people to hear the people’s grievances.
Dlamini made this announcement yesterday during the Thanksgiving Ceremony held at SAGM (KaBoyce) Primary School in Mbabane. Dlamini said the committee would be announced soon and the residents would start making use of it after it has been put in place.
The Legislator said he was doing this because he could not always be available every time, as he has also been tasked with other responsibilities. Dlamini has also been elected to be one of the members of the Pan African Parliament (PAP), where he was further elected as Rapporteur of the PAP Southern African Caucus.
Speaking to the hundreds of residents who braved the wet and chilly weather to attend the event, Dlamini said attending these assignments would not mean he had forgotten about the mandate given to him by the people of Mbabane East.
Dlamini said even at the continental Parliament, he would still be advancing the mandate he got from Mbabane East.
Present during the event was Sigwe MP David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, who was the guest speaker during the event. Ngcamphalala praised the people of Mbabane East for electing a person of Dlamini’s calibre. The former Cabinet Minister, who served two terms in such capacity, said Dlamini has made an immense contribution in Parliament during the six months he has spent there so far.
Ngcamphalala said it was for this reason why Dlamini was elected to be a member of the PAP. Ngcamphalala is another PAP member who was elected alongside Dlamini, Mtsambama MP Sibongile Mamba, Senator Tony Sibandze, and Senator Stukie Motsa.
The Sigwe Legislator said even at the African Parliament, Dlamini was seen by his fellow African MPs that he was committed to his work, hence he was elected to be the Rapporteur.
Ngcamphalala warned the residents that they should not be deceived by other people, who would want then to believ that Dlamini would not be able to attend to their needs, now that he had other responsibilities. “Tell them that you are very much aware of those responsibilities and you know he is representing you well there,” Ngcamphalala said.
Other Legislators who were present include Senator Siphelele Mkhonta, MPs Wilton Nkambule (Motshane), Sicelo Prince Dlamini (Mayiwane), Hope Shiba (Nkhaba), and Alec Lushaba (Hhukwini).
