MPOLONJENI COMMUNITY OPENS NEW WATER TAP

MBABANE – The long-awaited moment finally arrived for the Mpolonjeni residents, as Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Prince Lonkhokhela officially opened the Vulimpompi Water Tap, bringing clean water to about 330 people.

The project, spearheaded by Micro Project Director Sibusiso Mbingo, marks a significant milestone for the community, even though not all households have access to water yet.  Prince Lonkhokhela, Director Mbingo, and Mpolonjeni Chief Zembe Dvuba, were among the notable figures present at the opening ceremony.

As the ceremony continued, the excitement among the community members was palpable, with some entertainment rendered by pupils from Mpolonjeni Primary School. At the same time, adults gathered in small groups and discussed the positive impact that the new water tap would have on their daily lives.

The minister addressed the gathering, acknowledging Mbingo’s hard work and thanking him for his dedication to the project. He emphasised the importance of access to clean water for the overall well-being of the community and encouraged everyone to work together to ensure the water source’s sustainability.

Chief Zembe also took the opportunity to thank the Motshane MP Wilton Nkambule, and Prince Lonkhokhela for their unwavering support throughout the project. He praised their commitment to the community and their efforts in making the dream of accessible water a reality for the people of Mpolonjeni.

Fikile Dlamini, the owner of the house where the tap is placed, beamed with joy, as she shared her thoughts on the new development. “I am so grateful to everyone who made this possible,” she said. “Having access to clean water will change our lives for the better and create new opportunities for our community.”

As the event came to a close, the community members joined together in song and dance, celebrating this momentous occasion and the brighter future that lies ahead for Mpolonjeni.
