EZULWINI – MTN Foundation has announced a significant investment of E950,000 today at MTN Foundation Youth Empowerment Programs Cheque Handover event at MTN headquarters.
MTN Foundation’s investment in collaboration with partner organizations: JA, SEDCO, YERF, and Young Heroes, aims to empower young entrepreneurs in eSwatini.
The spokesperson for MTN Foundation’s board chairperson Busisiwe Simelane emphasized the importance of these programs in fostering entrepreneurship, stating, “I’m pleased to announce that today we’re here to invest once again a total amount of E 950,000 towards the projects that our partners are doing in order to help change lives. Looking into the future, we are looking into that child that would benefit that community, that child that will be employed. This is the way that we are going now. We are creating our own employment, we want to get to a point where we are not going to be complaining to anyone about there being no jobs. These are the young people who will take us into a different dimension in terms of job creation and entrepreneurship. Yes, our passion is in ensuring that household if it is possible has a story to tell about MTN foundation”, she said.
The commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship was reiterated at a gathering of representatives from MTN Foundation and its partner organizations. The investment will be distributed as follows:
JA – E200,000, YERF – E200,000, Young Heroes – E300,000, and SEDCO – E250,000. This financial support is intended to address youth unemployment challenges and stimulate economic recovery in the nation.
The investment reaffirms MTN Foundation’s dedication to providing scholarships for vulnerable youth in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, delivering entrepreneurship training, and offering loans to young entrepreneurs to initiate and expand their businesses.
The spokesperson Busisiwe Simelane commended the partner organizations for their significant contributions and stressed the positive impact these initiatives have on the lives of young entrepreneurs. The collaborative effort between MTN Foundation and its partners continues to provide essential tools and opportunities for the youth of eSwatini, empowering them to thrive in the realm of entrepreneurship.
