EZULWINI – This year’s MTN’s Spotlight event had an exciting reception from Eswatini audience in terms of votes.
MTN CEO, Wandile Mtshali revealed this during the show’s grand finale held at Esibayeni Lodge which saw Nonjabulo Magagula walk away with the main prize.
The top three contestants consisted of Nobesuthu Zungu and Sanele Mkhwanazi and Magagula was ultimately crowned the overall winner.
Mtshali thanked the youth for its quick adaptation of MTN’s digital platforms when submitting auditions via the MTN Yellohub website. It is then that the MTN CEO revealed that the public had embraced the MTN Ayoba App.
“Our customers have embraced the Ayoba App which they used daily as their preferred voting platform, peaking to almost 2 million votes for the first time. A record-breaking number of votes in the competition’s history” he said.
The total votes were 1 962 301.
Mtshali went on to say that this demonstrated how MTN Eswatini continued to lead the development and adoption of digital innovations to improve the quality of life of emaSwati.
The MTN Eswatini CEO thanked members of the media.
He said, “The media played an Amped up role this year by driving awareness on the Spotlight and creating public interest.” He said this year MTN Eswatini had seen greater visibility on print, radio and television to market the young talents.
The Spotlight Season 3 winner walked away with the following prizes:
