MBABANE – The Municipal Council of Mbabane awarded 23 businesses for their contribution in implementing environmental friendly practises.
This was part of the World Environment Day commemoration on Wednesday. The Council conducted a survey in the different entities within the city to gauge how much businesses know about environmental stewardship and how far they have gone in implementing environmentally friendly practices in their businesses.
The 23 companies were the seen as having contributed positively and they are aware of the environmental friendly practises.
“The council awards companies for environmental stewardship in event to commemorate World Environment Day held at Mountain View. The survey unveiled the knowledge gaps within the city about these practices and the need to be more intentional in awareness initiatives,” reads a statement from the council.
The awarded business include the Eswatini Environment Authority, European Union, Pick n’ Pay, UDNP, Eswatini Electricity Company, Eswatini National Housing Board, Sinotsangemvelo, Yibutse Green Action and Eswatini Water Services Cooperation among others.
