GOLF – After several rain-affected tournaments, Musa Shongwe put in a show to win this week’s Mkotoka Leg of Lamb Competition on a beautiful summer day at the Mbabane Mbabane Golf course.
Beating a field of 34 golfers, Shongwe played 21 points to win the competition. Coming second was retired football legend Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe on 18 points, who beat seasoned golfer Sam Richards on a count back.
“We thank our sponsor Mkotoka Developers for their partnership with Mbabane Golf Club and an impressive 34 golfers participated in this competition. We congratulate all winners and podium finishers,” said Mbabane Golf Club secretary Thabiso Gama.
Mbabane Municipality Chief Executive Officer Gideon Mhlongo secured fourth spot with 17 points, beating George Mzungu and Musa Motsa on the count back.
Welcome Mhlanga won the previous Mkotoka Leg of Lamb early this month. Mhlanga played a compelling 21 points to win the competition and coming second was Musa Motsa on 20 points, who beat lady golfer Nosmilo Kgomo on a count back.
