MBABANE – Swimming with sharks!
This best relates to Lindelwa Shirley Tsabedze, aka Mvelo, who will be part of the line-up of South African giant artist Sjava’s show tomorrow.
Dubbed Sjava Live in Mbombela, the show will be held in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province at Mbombela Stadium. Sjava is an award-winning, multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter. Following a phenomenal two-night success in Durban in KwaZulu Natal last year, the star announced that he was taking the show to Mpumalanga province. Born Jabulani Hadebe’s one-man show started in Pretoria in 2019. The debut show was held at the Pretoria Sunbet Arena. It was initially dubbed A Night with Sjava, and then it changed to Sjava Live In.
The excited songstress, signed under New Life Entertainment and manned by Thembinkosi Mthetwa, wrote on her Facebook page how excited she was to be part of the show. When reached for comment, she said, “I got the opportunity because I performed at one of the Sjava activations when he was in the country.”
Tsabedze shared with this publication that she felt very honoured. “God is good. I am ready to represent the country with the opportunity that I have been given. I am ready. I am fresh from the Divas Concert that was held on Sunday.”
The songstress further mentioned that she is excited about the fact that she will be sharing the stage with other artists who will be part of the line-up. “This would be a chance for me to put out my music to a new audience.
Mvelo kicked off her career in 2018 as the other half and lead vocalist of Tribe New. The natural-born superstar identifies her sound as Jazz and House-influenced. In 2019, Mvelo went solo as an artist, and she also made it to the top seven of the singing competition, MTN Spotlight Season 1.
She proceeds to sing her way to her intended life and aims to one day be one of the best globally.
Tsabedze has heavy influences in Jazz, Neosoul, RnB, and Pop. She is a multifaceted songstress, ready to deliver at a whim. Never one to hold back or be shy, basking in her strong vocals and presence leaves you in awe of just how much talent one person can have. She has also performed at this year’s Standard Bank Luju, Lifestlye Festival, Makoti Festival, and many more events.
