LUDZIDZINI – The Nation has come out to heed His Majesty King Mswati III’s call of Sibaya 2023.
As early as 7:00 am the Royal palace was already filling up with people from different walks of life, anticipating what his Majesty might say today.
“I used a bus from Manzini to come here today; I look forward to what the King will say. I think it will be mostly about parliament,” said Zibonangaye Dlamini from Embekweleni.
Worth mentioning is that, His Majesty King Mswati III summoned the nation to attend Sibaya that will be held today at Ludzidzini.
This was through acting Ludzidzini Governor Indvuna, Themba Ginindza at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
“The King says the nation from all corners of the country should attend Sibaya slated for July 11, 2023. Everyone is expected to be seated by 10am,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Themba Masuku, said he was already looking forward to today, Masuku said he highly anticipated what Sibaya Chairman, the King, had to share with the nation, adding that he had learnt not to guess and speculate what would likely take place.
He noted that during Sibaya, there were significant policy decisions discussed and one never knows the agenda beforehand because the Chairman as established by the Constitution only announces then.
The deputy premier went on to urge the nation to attend in their numbers, adding that the good thing about emaSwati was that they respect the monarchy and respond to the King’s call no matter the event, whether it was the Reed Dance, Incwala, Buganu Festival or even elections registration.
“Emaswati have proven several times before that they positively respond to Their Majesties call for whatever reason. I believe that even during the elections, they will come out in numbers,” said Masuku.
He said he got here an hour before and patiently waited for Ingwenyama to address the nation.
Meanwhile, parliamentarians thanked His Majesty for the announcement and further expressed their appreciation to have been entrusted to serve the nation, speculating on what the invitation to the Sibaya was about.
Meanwhile Senator Moyi Moyi said they could not predict what His Majesty would say. He said it would be hard for them to speak before his Majesty does. “By tradition we do not speak before the King does, however once the King has said something only then we can speak and comment,” he said.
