MBABANE– The next Miss Eswatini will walk away with a brand new BMW i3 as the grand prize.
In a landmark milestone and a first for the kingdom of Eswatini, the next crowned queen will be the proud owner of an electric car, all the way from Germany.
The grand prize is one of the many prizes from Oukitel Eswatini, which last month partnered with the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) to be the new directors of the Miss Eswatini Pageant.
When reached for comment, the Marketing Executive of Oukitel Eswatini Esihle Dlamini confirmed the grand prize for the next Miss Eswatini. She said, “The Miss Eswatini 2024 pageant winner will be the proud owner of the BMW i3, a fully electric car that comes with the Oukitel Portable Power Station to keep the car charged at all times. No stressing about petrol prices, as long as there is sun (or electricity), you are good to go.”
Dlamini shared with this publication that the best part is that the next Miss Eswatini will keep her car even after her reign ends.
She went on to share that they, as a company, are doing their part in promoting renewable energy and a safer, cleaner environment.
Other prizes that have been announced so far include a brand new phone, a C38. Dlamini said, “To celebrate our inaugural venture into the fashion, beauty, and pageant industry, we are dedicating the brand new C38 as the official toy for the Miss Eswatini 2024 Pageant.”
It is worth mentioning that previously, that some former Miss Eswatini’s, under the leadership of veteran Vinah Mamba Grey, received a car but never an electrical car as the grand prize.
The last crowning of Miss Eswatini was held on November 28, 2022, in a glittering ceremony that was held at Sharma House. Last month, former Miss Eswatini Tania Nunn left the country to study abroad. Shanice Mamba, who was the first princess, was then announced as the reigning queen for the remainder of the reign until the next crowning. Fezile Mthupha is the first princess.
Oukitel Eswatini distributes smartphones, rugged smartphones, tablets, rugged tablets, smart watches, laptops, and portable power stations.
