MAPHALALENI – Residents of Maphalaleni are over the moon.
This comes after several projects have been completed successfully here, bringing development to the constituency.
Just recently, a low-level bridge at Mcengeni worth E3.5 million was handed over by the microproject after its completion. In fact, it took government four months to complete this project after having awarded the tender to Icon Construction.
Information reaching Eswatini Positive News is that the construction began on 8 March 2021.
Reacting to the construction of the bridge, the residents have stated that they are grateful to government as they believe driving around the constituency will now be an easy task. They explained that prior they were faced with challenges during rainy days when attempting to cross the river at Mcengeni.
Another project that has left inhabitants of Maphalaleni in a celebratory mode is the completion of a clinic worth over E5.7 million.
To them, the project means they will no longer travel long distances in order to access medical facilities.
Hezekiah Dlamini, Chairman of the Constituency Development Committee, said they are thankful for the clinic as it will play a major role in assisting with health issues within the constituency. He stated that the health facility, excluding the Nurse home, cost about E5.7 Million.
Meanwhile, Ms. Malaza a nurse at Maphalaleni Clinic, stated that about two hundred patients benefit from this project every month. She said the beneficiaries included women and children. She explained that children come in large numbers for kugoma (vaccination) in their various divisions.
She stated that the clinic also assists people living with HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, High Blood pressure, and Mental Illness. In fact, they now collect their medication locally without traveling afar.
Another resident stated how easy it has become for them to access medical service without worrying about things like bus fare and spending long hours traveling to other clinics since the Clinic has been brought closer to them.
