MBABANE – The African Co-operative Action Trust (ACAT-Lilima Eswatini) day is to be held at Ngudzeni Inkhundla on Thursday.
ACAT is a Christian rural community development agency working to empower disadvantaged rural people especially women and children in order to improve their quality of life. Interviewed, Monitoring and Evaluating Officer Zwakele Dlamini, said they have set this day apart as the last project on their calendar.
“We chose to have this day held at Ngudzeni because it is one of Tinkhundla that we were implementing this year and our groups are more concentrated at Ngudzeni”, she said. She continued to elaborate that this event is all about speeches, evaluation of all the projects they had since the beginning of the year and entertainment.
She also stated that there will be awards on the day for the groups who performed well. “Our work is to teach women to save and borrow money from the groups they formed to start businesses. So, the awards go to those who were successful in carrying this out and also those with the best products and businesses”, said Dlamini.
Dlamini added that the groups will also have stalls where they would be showcasing their products for the year.
