MBABANE – God bless the hand that gives.
The Ngwenya Town Board has on Wednesday extended its giving hand by donating groceries worth over E1000 to a Mlotjwa family from Nkhungu in Ngwenya. Through its programme, Batho Pele concept, the Town Board visited the family after gathering that due to COVID-19 pandemic, it had been subjected to abject poverty and was struggling to put food on the table.
When presenting the grocery, Dumsani Mazibuko who was accompanied by other board members said they felt the donation would go a long way in helping the family have food in the next few days.
“As the Town Board we have decided to dig dipper into our coffers so that we can extend help to this family. We are doing this as part of giving back and assisting families within the community put food on the table,” he said.
Simangele Mlotjwa said she was grateful for receiving help from the Town Board. She said the donation come at a time when COVID-19 had pushed the family further into poverty.
“We are grateful, and God bless the board for this donation,” she said.
