NHLONIPHO, MURDA BONGZ COLLABORATE FOR ‘WOZA SAMBE’

MBABANE – Like a king on a chess board, Eswatini-born artist Nhlonipho Dlamini is making big moves.

Based in South Africa, the pianist, music producer and vocalist is clearly creating a mark in the said South African music industry as he has collaborated with internationally renowned DJ Murder Bongz, who now goes by the name Morda.

Morda came to fame while with Black Motion, a house music duo which has scooped multiple awards. Famously known as Murda Bongz, Morda’s birth name is Bongani Mahosana and he was born in June 2, 1987.

Nhlonipho and Morda collaborated on a song titled ‘Woza Sambe’, which is Morda’s new solo album titled ‘Asante’, dedicated to his daughter and DJ Zinhle.

Nhlonipho is the vocalist in the song and Morda, as per the norm, is behind the beats. Morda also features big names in his album including Nkosazana Daughter, Brenden Praise and others in his album.

When sought for comment, Nhlonipho confirmed the collaboration, stating that he wrote the song, hence the siSwati title ‘Woza Sambe’.

“It is a love song where I am actually telling my woman that her love causes butterflies in my stomach. It is a song that anyone can relate to,” commented Nhlonipho.

Recently, Nhlonipho held an elaborate with SABC 1’s Morning Live and following the interview, Nhlonipho told this publication that he landed more potential collaborations on his lap.

Lead by Morning Live Presenter and SABC 1 News Anchor Simphiwe Ncongwane, the interview was about Dlamini’s music career which is gaining momentum, especially after collaborating with The Muffiz’s Keke. Worth noting is that Ncongwane, who was interviewing Nhlonipho, is also a liSwati who is making waves in the South African media industry. In the interview with Ncongwane, the versatile artist said he put his engineering career aside to pursue music as it was his calling.
