NIGERIAN COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE FREEDOM DAY AND HERITAGE IN THE COUNTRY

MBABANE- NIGERIA MEETS ESWATINI!

This will be the case on October 1, 2022 where the Nigerian community in Eswatini will host the inaugural Nigeria’s Independence Day and Cultural Heritage Celebration.

Themed ‘Nigeria Independence Day (Eswatini Edition)’, the all-day event will be held at Mdzimba View in Ezulwini.

According to Event Coordinator Cassandra Dlamini, the first-of-its-kind event will display the Nigerian cultural heritage through celebrating Nigerian food, fashion, music and lifestyle.

Dlamini said the event is a cultural exchange programme whose main aim is to fuse the Nigerian, Eswatini and other African cultures.  She said emaSwati will also have the chance to display their colourful heritage.

“Another core objective of the main event is for the Nigerian community in the country to give back to the country through a clean-up campaign around Ezulwini. The social responsibility programme will take place in the morning hours on the day of the event,” said Dlamini.

According to Dlamini, the cultural exchange event has already been warmly welcomed by the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC).

Nigeria is a West African country that celebrates its Independence Day on October 1. It is public knowledge that Nigeria citizens are spread throughout the world, including the beautiful Kingdom of Eswatini. To create a deep understanding about the Nigerian way of life, Nigerians in Eswatini are on a mission to host the inaugural and then annual Nigerian Independence Day

(Eswatini Version).

The first event, which will be held on October 1, 2022, will be the first of many to come.

Event Founders are Ayodele Lawal and Azeez Aduragbemi, Nigerian nationals who have lived in the country for over two years.

Artists and activities of the event are yet to be revealed.
