MBABANE– Nkhaba Inkhundla in the Hhohho Region has expressed joy and gratitude over the tractor and implements worth E1.2 million to the Ekuvinjelweni Masibambisane Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited.
The Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala yesterday officially handed over a tractor and implements worth E1.2million to Ekuvinjelweni Masibambisane Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited at Nkhaba Inkhundla in the Hhohho Region.
The equipment is funded through the Regional Development Fund (RDA), community members said they were thrilled as it was farming season and this kind of handover made things easier for them.
“We are extremely happy with this donation and we hope that it will benefit the rest of the community,” said one community member.
Another senior community member said he was thrilled with the Minister for not forgetting them.
“We are reminded every day why Tinkhundla is the best system for us and the rest of the community, we are really humbled by this kind of donation,” said Bhekithemba Madlazi.
A litany of community members spoken to after the handover expressed that some households relied on such donations to farm and provide food for their families.
They were all in agreement that the donation will come in handy especially now that the economy was becoming harder and harder to afford.
Meanwhile, Minister Ngcamphalala said as the Ministry of Tinkhundla they always admire projects of this nature, because they are part of the core objective of the establishment of the RDA.
Worth noting is that His Majesty’s Government, through the Tinkhundla system of Government, always strives to enhance the livelihood of people.
“This project is one amongst many that have been funded at Nkhaba Inkhundla, the expectation from Government going forward is that this project will grow to the level of providing employment opportunities for many people as such projects directly address the objective of the RDA, which is poverty alleviation or eradication in each of the four regions of the Kingdom of Eswatini,” said Ngcamphalala.
Meanwhile, Bukani Shoes Maduna, the Multi-purpose Chairperson expressed gratitude to the Government of Eswatini for the tractor.
“We are pleased to inform the Minister that this project has really eradicated poverty in our families as last year, we were able to share E100 000 in dividends amongst ourselves. The project has also given birth to a block yard business thus making our lives and the community even better. Thank you Eswatini Government,” he said.
