NKOMAZI COMMUNITY GETS E5.8 MILLION CLINIC

NKOMAZI – After 30 years of waiting to have access to a local health facility, Residents of Nkomazi and surrounding areas have every reason to smile following the construction of a clinic here.

This is one of the projects that government, through Microproject, has approved and constructed a clinic at Nkomazi worth E5.8 million. Eswatini Positive News has established the construction began in March 2021 and is expected to be completed in August 2021 (next month). It come at a time when the Kingdom of Eswatini and the entire world is faced with the COVID-19 pandemic

Information reaching this publication is that the proposal for the clinic date back to 30 years ago. In fact, the previous legislators under Nkhaba constituency had been reviving the application with fail. However, when the current Constituency council took office in 2018, government finally saw the need for the clinic since COVID-19 had hit the country. Its construction has brought hope to many here following that they will no longer have to travel to either Pigg’s Peak or Nkhaba for treatment. Nkomazi is located 15 kilometers from Pigg’s Peak. It is calculated that the newly constructed clinic will service close to 8 000 residents. The health institution is surrounded by five schools and this will make educators quickly respond to emergency issue for scholars.

Residents who spoke to this publication have expressed their excitement on the construction of the clinic. They have stated that they are hoping the ministry of health will provide all pharmaceuticals and clinic tools.

“It has brought hope and we are excited that we will access a health facility without having to travel to far places,” said Mabuza.

Another resident said: “health issues need to be prioritized and we are happy that government finally headed to the call for construction of a clinic,”

Meanwhile, Zakhele Magongo, Nkhaba Member of Parliament, said the project has brought a great relief to the constituency and will improve the response to health issues for residents.

“We are grateful to government for the project and we believe it will help bring development to the constituency,” he said.
