MBABANE– Vigilant and strict!
This is how the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) have promised to conduct themselves this Easter Holiday Season, saying they would have zero tolerance for lawlessness.
In an interview with this reporter, Police Information and Communications Officer (PICO) Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, said they would be strict this year- guarding against traffic law and general law breakers.
“We have tightened our security this year and we will be in every corner of the country, guarding against any lawlessness.
“Our traffic police are already on the roads and more are yet to be deployed- to guard against any drunken driving and other citizens contravening other traffic laws,” said Vilakati.
Worth noting is that the Easter Holidays, like the Festive Season, are known to be times where crime and road accidents significantly escalate. To address this, the Eswatini police have devised the above-mentioned strategy.
The Police Information and Communications Officer also said people should imbibe responsibly and avoid roads.
