Nonhlanhla Dlamini founder of ‘Nono cakes’ has put eSwatini on the map by winning a cake competition based in America.
Dlamini has also been featured in their digital catalogue which is accessed by over a million bakers and people in general.
When explaining the competition Dlamini said the competition was called ‘World’s Super Exceptional Cake Decorator’ it was hosted by an American page called amazingcakeideas.com.
“So they sent us an email informing us that someone had nominated one of our cakes for the competition, which had 80 cakes from around the globe and that is how I found myself part of the competition.” She said.
Worth noting is that Amazing Cake Ideas is a total resource for cake lovers and anyone interested in cake baking and decorations.
It features cakes for weddings, birthday, kids’ parties, recipes and many more.
In addition Dlamini said on her cake inspiration she took some of her the clients briefing and interpreted it to suit their occasion.
“Funny enough I started baking at a very young age and my passion for food grew and 2013. This is when I started Nono’s Cakes and the response was overwhelming. There is so much potential for Baker’s to explore in this industry, a lot of room for growth and Social media “platforms such as Instagram, take Pintrest have created awareness with clients as to the vastness of Cake designs.” She said.
The renowned cake boss mentioned that she received an award for first runner up and her cake was among 80 others.
“The international recognition will go a long way for us as a business, so no money was attached. Winning this award has boosted our confidence and good name as a brand so we will work harder and bring more to the fore for our clients.
“We will definitely be making great use of the international exposure supplying more clients outside of Eswatini,” she said.
