MBABANE – Local Gospel artist Nothando Shabangu- Dlamini launched her own YouTube channel ten days ago.
The channel was launched on February 2. So far, it has 264 subscribers. When reached for comment, Dlamini pleaded with her fans to subscribe to the channel. She shared with this publication that the song titled ‘Yebo Linamandla’ was uploaded on the channel, and so far it has been viewed by 6700 people and had at least 30 comments at the time of compiling this report.
“The song was recorded during my live recording that took place in November 2022 at the Alliance Church. The song’s duration is 11.22 minutes. It forms part of my album, which is already out and available on all digital platforms.”
On November 5, 2022, she recorded a full album (with 15 songs) at the Mbabane Alliance Church. The full album ‘Umusi Wendvumiso’ was released on November 6, 2023, and is available on all digital platforms. From the same album, a single titled ‘Phakama Nkosi Yezulu’ was released on 10July 2023. Since its release, the single has amassed over 50,000 plays on Spotify.
Dlamini is a gospel music artist, singer, and song writer. She is a born-again Christian. She has served in the church as part of the Praise and Worship Team at the Mbabane Alliance Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. J.V. Mazibuko for over 20 years.
She recorded her debut single Wangihlawulela in 2019 at Elijah Mango College, Mpumalanga, in South Africa, during the 2019 Mpumalanga Gospel Music Megafest. Since its release, the single Wangihlawulela has amassed over 70,000 views on YouTube. ‘Wangihlawulela’ is available on all digital platforms.
She has ministered at many events organised by various corporate entities, such as MTN Eswatini, the Central Bank of Eswatini, and the Eswatini Parliament. She has also performed in many churches throughout the country.
She is a multi-award-winning artist. She won the Best Africa Song in the 2021 Mpumalanga Gospel Awards. In the 2022 Eswatini Music Gospel Awards, she won the Best Female Gospel Artist Award as well as the Best Gospel Song Award for the song “Wangihlawulela.” Dlamini has shared the stage with renowned South African gospel artists, which include, among others, Ntokozo Mbambo, Ayanda Ntanzi, and Takie Ndou, for the Joyous Celebration and Spirit of Praise. Local Gospel artists she has shared the stage with include, among others, Nduduzo Matse,Linda Dlamini, and Sphiwo Ndoni.
