LOBAMBA – Congratulations are in order as the Nsingizini Hotspurs Football Club wins against Rangers FC and Moneni Pirates on Sunday, 06 November 2022.
This was a one-day tournament which took place at Somhlolo National Stadium, Lobamba. The football club that took the MoMo cup home is currently located at Hluti, in the Shiselweni region. The first match, Nsingizini was playing against Rangers FC which is located in Nhlangano started at 09h00 and the Nsingizini scored three-goals. Unfortunately, the Rangers were not able to score any goal before it was time-out [3-0]. After the tournaments, the man of the matches, Pius Baffour, walked away with E12 000.
Sabelo Ndlangamandla, the Social Media Manager stated that the second match which started at 16h00 was their massive victory. It have been reported that Nsingizini was playing against the Moneni Pirates, this football club is based in Manzini. It is one of the best known soccer clubs in Eswatini but it was defeated by an up-growing team with two goals and the Moneni Pirates scored a single goal. Ndlangamandla said that the match against the Moneni Pirates was a ‘dubby’ since it was their first time playing against a large team and winning it came as a shock.
“I don’t know how to explain the feeling, but it was an amazing one, we managed to beat Moneni Pirates, our new coach from Malawi, Geralb Phiri, played the part.” said Ndlangamandla.
The winners were awarded with different prizes which includes;
1. Thubelihle Mavuso [E10 000] – Best player 2022
2. Sibusiso Baraba Dlamini [E5000] – Goalkeeper
3. Pius Baffour [E10 000] – Top Goal Scorer
4. Pius Baffour [E2000] – Man of the match against Rangers
5. Siboniso Bhembe [E5000] – Best Public Relation Officer
