HLUTI – With the 203/ 24 season ended with players on break, Nsingizini Hotspurs have banned their players from playing in Stokvels (Un-official tournament).

The stern warning was related by the club President Derrick Shiba during the End of the Season Awards held on Sunday at RDA Hall, in Hlutsi. Shiba said they were not expecting any of their players to be involved in those unofficial tournaments as they were introducing and they were working under the theme of professionalism.

“This is the time for the players to get rest and we are not expecting them to be engaged in stokvels tournament because we are way beyond that. They are playing at the top level and we have bigger dreams as a club,” he said.

Most teams are against their players to be engage in stokvels tournament as the players are at high risk of sustaining injuries especially as most of these tournaments are played in open field without proper facilities including the field.

Shiba said they will release their pre-season scheduled soon as they were currently waiting a response from the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) if they secure the CAF Confederation Cup spot.

He said the team was ready to play in the tournament as they wrote a request letter to both EFA and CAF. He said having two players currently with the national team, Sihlangu and eight with the women’s national teams shows big progress.
