MBABANE – Old Mutual has come through for students, as it has dished out a sponsorship to the tune of E86 900.
The sponsorship was announced today (May 13, 2024) at the Old Mutual offices in Mbabane. It was meant to help four students pursue their studies in various different courses of study.
According to SOS Children’s Villages Eswatini National Director Phindile Nhleko, the generous sponsorship provided by Old Mutual serves as a powerful example for other companies to follow in empowering students through education.
She expressed gratitude and excitement for the generous donation received on behalf of the young individuals under their care. She mentioned that the substantial contribution would significantly impact the lives of these youths, allowing them to pursue their aspirations and achieve their dreams. The spokesperson underscored the importance of loving homes and opportunities for children, enabling them to realise their full potential. She also highlighted the critical role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and creating brighter futures for the students.
Old Mutual Business Development Officer Elvis Dlamini presented a sponsorship to Mahlubi Dlamini for Business Management (E20 000), Xolile Ndlangamandla for Psychology (E22 300), Thandeka Maseko for Human Resources (E22 300), and Siyabonga Dlamini for Information Technology (E22 300). Dlamini highlighted that their Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program focused on health and education, commending SOS for its dedication to such initiatives. He also mentioned that Old Mutual would offer internships to these children, allowing them to gain valuable professional working experience.
