MBABANE– Pupils will soon have versatile and assertive teachers!
Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society is currently training 11 teachers from 11 schools around Sigombeni clinic’s catchment areas on First Aid skills.
The training of the teachers on First Aid will ensure that pupils are attended to immediately after any accident at school and to avoid the situation from getting worse before they are taken to a health facility.
Worth noting is that this prestigious training was made possible by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
According to communication from Red Cross, LARS Foundation supported them with funding worth E143 000 00 to conduct the five-day training which started on January 23, 2023.
The exercise is currently on-going under the ‘#LearnFirstAidandSaveLive’.
When interviewed some of the teachers who were part of the training said they were privileged to have been part of a worthy project and for free.
A teacher from around the area said “Red Cross First Aid training classes gave us the information and the skills we need to help adults and children during many emergencies.”
With their training available online, in person, and via their blended training method, which combines online work with hands-on skills sessions, Red Cross’s First Aid training delivers the latest information in the format that suits one’s best.
Another primary school teacher, Siphesihle Zwane shared the same sentiments and said Red Cross First Aid training gave them access to best-in-class instruction in three unique ways.
“Whether you prefer the interaction available in a traditional classroom setting, the freedom to learn at your own pace online, or want a combination of the two, our innovative classes can help you learn the material your way,” she said when explaining.
Meanwhile, when one completes any of the in-person or blended learning courses, they receive a two-year certification, as well as access to refreshers that can help maintain their skills throughout the certification period.
